Black Robusto Porter now in Bottles

Wednesday, October 24th, 2012

On Monday, a new label ran through our bottling line in San Leandro. For the first time, the long time, draft only brew, Black Robusto Porter stepped into our bottle line-up in 22oz bombers.

Drake’s Black Robusto is a deep, dark “Robust Porter,” a beer style known for being darker, fuller-bodied, and stronger than a standard Brown Porter. Each pint goes down smoothly with flavors of bittersweet chocolate and slight roast from Crystal and Chocolate malt. A touch of spicy, herbal hop character from Willamette hops balance out the finish. Enjoy a pint, and now a bottle, with dark lingering satisfaction.

With it’s malt backbone, chocolate, and roasted flavors, the Black Robusto also plays an exceptional role on the table as it pairs well with smoked meats, BBQ brisket, mole, chocolate, and much more.

Just bottled Monday, you are welcome to grab the Black Robusto here on the shelves at the Drake’s Barrel House starting today, and it should make it to stores in the Bay Area within the next week or so. Further out in SoCal and up past Sacramento, our fans can expect to see it sometime in November. Cheers to more Drake’s beers.

It’s Back: Aroma Coma Bottle Releases in SF and East Bay this Friday

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

We know you’ve been patient, and your wait is almost over. After you vultures (just kidding) wiped us clean of Aroma Coma in record time earlier this month, we’ve been itchin’ to get the next batch out to you in bottles.

Today at the brewery we’ve been working hard brewing and bottling all day, and can now finally say the official bottle release of our Aroma Coma double dry-hopped IPA will be this Friday in both San Francisco and Oakland!!

Now we can’t say exactly where these releases will be happening, but I would suggest those in the city head toward the SoMa district on Folsom St. and say hello to Craig round 4 pm. On the East Bay, Fraggle and Rebecca will be waiting to help cure your Aroma Coma withdrawals near 3rd and Broadway. Cheers!

Here are some pictures of our busy but excellent day, ended as any good day should—with craft beer.

The labels made it and we were all systems go.

Pretty soon we had our bottling machine cranking out row upon beautiful row of the good stuff.

Andrew once again shows off his bottling skill as he carefully and swiftly gets the bottle cased up.

What a glorious beer tower we have...

Cheers to a job well done. Can almost smell the hops from here.

On another related note, also today we mashed in on our 7th and last batch of Aroma Coma.

Not too easy to see, but that's the last batch of it getting started. Get it while you can.

Today at Drake’s we’ve been bottling fools, packing up our Blonde Ale for you guys to enjoy with some friends and some sunshine. Here’s a video of the action. Trying to make sure you guys have enough to go round keeps our bottling team moving pretty fast! Cheers!
