Assistant Barrel House Manager
The Assistant Barrel House Manager serves as the right hand to the general manager. This role is responsible for maintaining all areas of the Barrel House requiring a comprehensive understanding of the operational structure of the Barrel House, strong leadership skills, and creative problem-solving capability. The candidate will report to the Barrel House General Manager regarding observations, recommendations, and solutions to operational issues where 40-50 hours per week will be expected. As the Assistant Barrel House Manager, you will be expected to provide our customers with a unique and interactive experience with craft beer, deliciously enhanced bar food, and a fun vibe.

Responsibilities
Service
- Floor-manage during peak periods and events, ensuring a positive experience for all guests through supervision of staff and all aspects of service
- Confirm the quality of food and beverages through taste tests, visual inspection, and intake of guest feedback
- Pouring beer, wine, responsibly and properly in order to ensure the highest quality of product and the highest level of responsibility
- Ensure lighting, music, and indoor temperatures are appropriate for best guest experience
- Help oversee the maintenance of the physical appearance of the venue – both internally and externally
Taproom
- Strong ability to diffuse difficult guest situations and adapt to guest circumstances or needs.
- Partner with the General Manager on event functions to include, but not limited to, planning, organizing and executing events, luncheons, dinners and banquets.
- Leading and coaching the team to provide an exceptional experience for guests, while maintaining service standards for the team.
- Maintain draft system and participate in quality control measures
- Consistently works to increase profitability by maximizing sales and minimizing costs and labor
- Ensuring the quality of our products through taste tests, visual inspection and guest feedback
- Oversee all beverage ordering and inventory
Administrative
- Support the General Manager with team management in areas such as scheduling, training, interviewing, daily decision making, role assignment and adequate staff coverage while managing meal and rest breaks, and communication of goals and strategies
- Assists the General Manager with any administrative duties, day-to-day Barrel House operations, and strategizing on new concepts and service offerings
- Ensuring that the Barrel House staff is knowledgeable and educated through ongoing training, performance management and evaluation of service standards
- Encourage and participate in a positive and fun working environment, and develop a strong relationship with staff
- Attend all required meetings (Kitchen, FOH and Management)
Requirements
- 1-2 years of bar and restaurant management experience
- 1-2 years of scheduling and floor managing
- Excellent knowledge of draft systems
- Experience with financial management – inventory & cost control
- Experience in working with various vendors and placing/receiving orders
- Ability to take responsibility, make quick & informed operational decisions
- Ability to adapt, think quickly, prioritize & multi-task within a fast-paced environment
- Problem solver who is able to work independently
- Ability to direct, train, and coach FOH staff
- Excellent time management & organizational skills
- Experience in POS management
- Basic excel and industry-relevant platform knowledge
