Assistant Kitchen Manager

Drake’s Barrel House, in San Leandro, is currently looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our kitchen team. Love of high-level brewpub cuisine,craft beer, and teamwork is a must. Our team works hard and plays just as hard.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of service and prep, including placing/receiving orders, creating daily prep lists, overseeing banquet orders
• Act as Manager-on-duty two days a week
• Providing “boots on the ground” leadership, active coaching and training of staff
• Work the line daily, providing leadership and ensuring responsible ticket times.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work space, enforcing the highest standards of food handling and sanitation
• Create daily/weekly/monthly menu items & specials
• Collaborate with Chef and Executive Chef in creating pop-up food concepts utilizing our variety of equipment
• Participate in menu writing for quarterly themed events focused on seasonal beer releases
• Weekly inventory

Requirements

• 1 year experience in a lead cook/chef de partie/supervisor role
• 2-3 years in the industry, with increasing responsibilities
• Food handlers card, required
• Knowledge of Temporary (TFF) and mobile (MFF) food operations, a plus
• Food truck experience, a plus
• Spanish speaker/Bilingual, a plus
• ServSafe Manager certification, a plus
