Restaurant Maintenance Technician

The Restaurant Maintenance Technician plays an important role at our restaurant and contributes to the growth & success of it by addressing maintenance & upkeep needs. We are seeking an experienced Technician who is detail-oriented, self-motivated & able to troubleshoot. You will be working at our East Bay locations in San Leandro and in Oakland.

Reports to: General Managers

Type: Part-time, Non-Exempt

Pay: Hourly

Schedule Expectations:
• This is a restaurant so there are often emergencies that need to be dealt with promptly. If there is a schedule change due to emergencies the rest of the week’s schedule may be adjusted accordingly
• There may be a need, from time to time, for a weekend shift

Responsibilities

  • Performing regular building (interior and exterior) maintenance & repair, including but not limited to painting, power-washing & maintenance of equipment.
  • Fabricating tables and other structures.
  • Responsible for planned preventative maintenance, including but not limited to proactive & reactive work.
  • Troubleshooting and conducting performance assessments of equipment, appliances, and systems.
  • Repairing, replacing, and maintaining aspects of restaurant electrical, plumbing, and other systems
  • Assist with both new existing construction projects at all locations, as needed.
  • Identify methods of improving efficiency, safety, and ergonomics of the workplace
  • Documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and needs
  • Performing all tasks according to SOP
  • Adhering to all safety regulations at all times

 

Requirements

  • Demonstrated prior experience with all types of tools and their safe use
  • Demonstrated prior experience with plumbing and electrical systems
  • Competent at basic restaurant repairs and maintenance
  • Experience with basic woodworking, but functional experience in carpentry is preferred
  • Comfortable with light electrical and plumbing work
  • Familiarity of OSHA safety requirements
  • Good organizational skills
  • Access to personal vehicle
  • Able to work both alone and as a team
  • Able to follow directions to a high level of detail and precision
  • Able to work safely around chemicals, heights, loud noises, mechanical equipment, wet environments, and other potential hazards
  • Flexibility to work a variety of possible shifts
  • Willing to travel between two East Bay restaurants to address maintenance issues, when needed
