Electric Owl is Back!
Our feathered friend, the Electric Owl, has swooped down into the brewery once again, this time adding a jolt to the new year. The coffee brown ale is our first special release of 2020, and we’re happy to announce that it will be available for a limited time in 16oz. cans.
For this edition of Electric Owl, we decided to team up with San Francisco’s Barebottle Brewing. They recently started roasting single-origin coffee, in addition to making delicious beer. Together we selected Guatemala Huehuetenango coffee beans, which perfectly compliment the beer recipe.
At its heart, Electric Owl features deep caramel and lightly roasted flavors from the malt. Then we added Mandarina and Amarillo hops for a touch of citrus. Finally, after fermentation, the beer was infused with coffee beans to create subtle layers of chocolate, nut, and additional citrus notes.
A limited number of 16oz. cans will land at Drake’s Barrel House and Drake’s Dealership this Friday, January 10. It will also be on tap. Drake’s BARN will receive Electric Owl cans and draft on Wednesday, January 15. It will be available at all locations while supplies last.
Note: Electric Owl is a limited release. Less than 50 cases of 16oz. cans were produced. Don’t wait long to swing by one of our retail locations to grab a four pack.
What’s the story behind the beer name?
Suspended above the brewery, our guardian owls screech night and day, warding off pesky intruders. These electrified decoys are our daily wakeup call, making them the perfect mascot for our delightfully caffeinated coffee brown ale.
