Retail Marketing Specialist

Reports to: Marketing Director
Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (30+ hours in Peak Season)
Pay: From $24.00 per Hour

The Retail Marketing Specialist acts as a liaison between our retail location and marketing team for all marketing requests and supports events onsite. This position is responsible for managing the retail marketing strategy and development of content, monitoring our social media channels and community engagement, and coordinating with the events lead on all events activity and promotion.

This position can flex and grow into a full-time marketing role, so those with content and strategic planning, marketing experience, or entry-level design experience are encouraged to apply as well.

Responsibilities

  • Research audience preferences and current social media and marketing trends
  • Ensure messaging is on brand and consistent across all marketing channels for the retail location
  • Direct photographers and videographers to develop marketing material for our channels (social media, website, Toast, YouTube, review platforms, email, advertising, PR, etc.) and has the ability to create professional content
  • Create menus, flyers, and event collateral using Canva
  • Lead development of media kit for local area and make PR connections
  • Lead print marketing efforts with our local print partner
  • Use our social media and PR tool to analyze competitors, track journalists and influencers, post content on social media, and create dashboards to look at successes and opportunities for improvement
  • Support events at the retail location by capturing content, doing live streams, and interacting with guests to get user generated content
  • Work with partners and in the community to get the word out about our location, events, banquets, and everything we have to offer
  • Bring ideas to the marketing team on expanding what we can do at our retail location and at Drake’s in general
  • Report to Marketing Director and proactively comes to meetings with agenda items and ideas

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, plus familiarity with online marketing strategies
  • Prior professional photography and video experience
  • Expertise in social media platforms, PR, and advertising
  • Expertise with Canva and/or similar tools
  • Willingness to learn and experiment with new tools and techniques
  • Communication skills, including verbal and written
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and to complete all projects assigned by management in a thorough and timely manner
  • Must have some weeknight and weekend availability to capture live event content

“A Plus” Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 1-3 years of experience in food and beverage industry
  • Entry-level design experience
  • Event strategy and planning experience
