DJ Malachi Padron is sort of a big deal, heads up the MoM parties along with Soul Delicious among other regular parties around Oakland, dishing out heaping helpings of old-school soul, funk and breaks.

DJ METHODS & MACKSWELL * 5.oo-11.oo (beer garden)
Come celebrate First Fridays with a conductor of all things good, DJ Methods has dj’d a whole bunch of times at places with no celebrities in attendance, and will whip the soul/groove/headnod funk on ya.

SUEÑOS * 6.30-9.30 (parking lot)
Sueños is a band striving to fuse jazz with Hip-Hop, R&B, and Indie Rock. Hip-Hop drum grooves, gospel harmonies, acoustic bass lines, bebop-tinged horns, and electronics define our sound. We write and perform original music as well as covering music by artists like Roy Hargrove, Christian Scott, Kanye West, and J Dilla.

Anna and Her Galaxy is an Oakland based DJ specializing in 60s and 70s Garage, Soul, Motown, Oldies, Reggae, and Rocksteady. All vinyl all the time!

Whether spinning his regular rotation on KALX or his weekly Sundays at Ruby Room, Jesse Luscious is a unique spinner of eclectic old school and modern rock, punk, hiphop, rocksteady and whatever else feels right.

Oakland’s own Anthony Baraceros lays down the good-time electro funk, throwback breaks, and nu-soul sounds while you’re drinking rounds.

DJ Cali has been moving dance floors with soulful music from all over the globe, from Afro, Broken Beat, House, Soul, R&B, Jazz, Brazilian, and Latin. He also represents Oaklands’ thePeople, who hold down THE preeminent club night in Oakland, every 4thSaturday at New Parrish.

DJ Mark Maiden is a hip-hop, rare groove and funky soul crate digger, crewed up with Nodphonics and Rockit City DJs.

DJ DAVOUD * 1.oo – 4.oo
Fresh beats and grooves with DJ Davoud of the Freeflo DJ collective. From Dub and Rock Steady Reggae, to Hip Hop, Electro, House, Drum & Bass, some Rock, Funk, Punk, New Wave, and everything in between – it’s always a sonic-kaleidoscope of fun.

A real Bay Area legend by way of New York, Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist made his mark by curating top-notch events featuring hip hop legends and supporting independent artists from the Bay and beyond. Ren has appeared on numerous publications, such as the XLR8R, 7×7, SF Weekly, SF Examiner, Mugshot and SF Magazine, to name a few.

KALX’s own DJ Pili Pili gets your baby-Friday started right with a mix of hip hop, jazz, funk, soul, electronica, and world beats, styles he flexes every other Thursday night on the Subterraneo show on KALX 90.7 FM

As skilled with rare vinyl as he is with the latest Dj technology, Delgado is well versed in the entire catalogue of Reggae, Soul, and Hip Hop. Delgado is currently a resident at Fresh Jamz and the 45 Sessions as well as part of the Aztlán Roots Sound System.

DJ Lamont produces a weekly radio show called The Fingersnaps Music Salon on community radio KPOO 89.5 San Francisco Wednesdays 12 Midnight to 5:00 am featuring disco, classic dance, The San Francisco Street Inspired House Mix, nujazz & soul music.

DJ Tom Thump has been making his mark on dance floors and patrons of the Club music world from the major music centers of Detroit, Los Angeles, and for the last decade, San Francisco.  His knowledge of the world of music is both deep and wide, his skills allowing the musical language speak clearly and powerfully, no matter the genre, electronica, funk, world, soul and everything in-between.
