Bogg

Bogg started like most bands, in a garage, with the goal of providing the musicians in the band an outlet to explore improvisational music. Originally inspired by bands such as The Bad Plus and Robert Glasper, Bogg took to writing new music as well as unique covers of pop hits.

Since it’s inception, Bogg has gone on to make a name for themselves locally for their unique take on jazz music, but regionally as a go-to corporate and private event band. This has led the band to perform over 100 dates a year servicing all sorts of weddings, private parties, and corporate get togethers. All this work has allowed Bogg to form a tight bond amongst its members on and off stage and that connection is showcased on their new EP. On stage it isn’t uncommon for band members to read each others minds, and change up a piece of music on the spot. Bogg’s music not only showcases the band’s deep love and fascination with the world of improvised music, but also shows their deep love and respect for each other and the music they make together.

Bogg’s 2017 EP, “The Good Fight” is the band’s first output of original material since 2015’s “The Boys Is Safe.”  The songs had been in the bands repertoire for a while, getting pulled out to rehearse and refine every once in a while as the soundcheck of a wedding, or at a background music gig.  This EP represents a return to the explorative spirit that Bogg was founded in but with a new sense of maturity that only comes with playing good music, with good people, for a long time.
