More
  • Barley is the story of beer. It is the heart and soul of a good pint. No Barley, No Malt, No Beer.
  • Floor malting is a blend of art and tradition that creates unparalleled flavor in the finished malted barley and beers brewed with that malt. Freshly kilned and locally sourced malt guarantees the soul of beer is brewed using the highest quality and most flavorful ingredient.
  • Admiral malt enables brewers and distillers to operate sustainably and deepen their connection with the farmers who grow their barley. Admiral Maltings is uniquely situated to capture and unlock California’s terroir in our malt, all while using less water in agriculture and lowering our carbon footprint.

About Admiral Maltings: Beer is Barley! Admiral Maltings partners with family farms in California to sustainably cultivate barley and other grains. Our barley is floor-malted in small batches using the ancient practice of floor malting, which creates a depth of flavor complexity revered by brewers worldwide. Freshly kilned floor malt tastes unlike any other malt, preserving the best aromas that often dissipate during shipping by larger maltsters. This connection between brewer, distiller,, maltster, farmer, and consumer helps create a resilient local barley supply chain, lowers our carbon footprint, and tells a story the consumer cares about.
