American Craft Beer Week, featuring the 2nd Annual NorCal Session Fest

SF Beer Week, LA Beer Week, SD Beer Week, Sac Beer Week, Davis Beer Week, Stockton Beer Week, Silicon Valley Beer Week… there’s no shortage of craft beer celebrations around California.  But in the end, it’s not just about the Golden State (even if we’re reluctant to admit it sometimes).  And that is what brings us to American Craft Beer Week.

It may not be as concentrated as the 600+ local events we’ve come to expect from SF Beer Week, but it’s good to take a step back and celebrate with our American brethren the building of the most robust, creative, and influential beer community the world’s ever seen.

For our part, Drake’s has a slew of events scheduled for next week, anchored by the 2nd Annual NorCal Session Fest, a celebration of lower-alcohol-but-full-bodied beer, featuring 34 breweries & counting, all bringing beers under 5% ABV.  Like we say with our Alpha Session IPA, “all the lupulin, none of the stumblin’.”

Session Fest will be Saturday, May 17, from noon to 4pm in Jack London Square in downtown Oakland.  Walk, take the ferry, ride your bike, buy a pogo stick, summon a small army of carrier pigeons… the possibilities are endless.  Go ahead and click the image above for full details and tickets.  Or click this link. After all, this is America, and you have the freedom to choose.

So. While Session Fest is our marquee event for ACBW, it’s certainly not the only one we’re helping out on. We have  events all over California next week, in (so far) San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, San Jose, San Diego, Sacramento, and Lafayette.  Not to mention our own Drake’s Barrel House, with will be pumping out all we have to offer from our 25 taps.  Our full American Craft Beer Week schedule is right here, and we’ll likely be adding another event or two, so if you’re not seeing anything going on near you, keep checking back, and come celebrate the best of American beer with one of the original West Coast breweries.
