Cutty IPA, a West Coast IPA dedicated to the East Bay

If you haven’t heard of Cutty IPA, you’re missing out! We wanted to make a VERY drinkable beer representing our East Bay culture and community, so we came up with this 7% West Coast IPA, a light-bodied IPA meant to be enjoyed with friends.

When you first open this beer, it smells like a pine air freshener hanging on your rearview mirror.

Or when you peel that orange you brought to work for a snack.

Or when you smoke a bowl with the windows rolled up… You know the smell.

The Origin of Drake’s Cutty IPA

Cutty IPA was created in our San Leandro brewery, in a warehouse behind the Walmart and Home Depot. The term “cutty” originated as shorthand for both “cutthroat” and a hidden place around the corner where you can get away. This perfectly sums up the attitude of the independent streetwise crew that this beer was brewed for.

As soon as our brew team opened the tank, the dank smell of hops brought back memories of growing up in the Bay, so we decided to pay homage to our East Bay roots with this West Coast IPA.

We love our West Coast IPA for its dank hop aroma and flavor, but we also love it because it reminds us of home. Whether you’re from the East Bay or not, we think you’ll love this beer for its delicious taste and its nostalgic feel.

What’s Inside a Can of Cutty IPA?

We have brewed this 7% West Coast IPA with a strong dose of Target, Delta, Amarillo, Cascade, Citra hops, imparting a dank flavor of pine and citrus.

Our Cutty IPA is the perfect balance of old school and new school hops, creating a unique flavor profile that’s a throwback to the hops we have always loved but with the easy drinkable body of a new school West Coast IPA.
