Drake’s has been around for 25 years, and we’re throwing Drake’s biggest party ever on Friday, September 12th, from 4-10pm, and there are plenty of reasons to be stoked for it. Here are a few to sink your teeth into:
1) Friday Night. Everyone loves a good party on a Friday night, and we’ve been throwing down excellent Friday entertainment for nearly all of our 25 years. With Bay Area Saturdays fuller than our mash tun after a Denog batch with various BBQs, activities, fests, and parties, we thought a move to Friday would help you all make it out for some good times.
2) Headzo Release. Our 25th Anniversary beer Headzo American Strong Ale aged in Wild Turkey Whiskey barrels, 18% ABV, will be officially releasing at the DBH that day. Brewmaster John Gillooly says of the beer, “The beer is drinking so super fine with flavors of rich caramel. We’re excited for people to try this one soon and hold on to it for as long as they wish to cellar it.” Heck, maybe we’ll hold on to a bottle to try in another 25 years.
Folks with pre-order tickets for bottles or a VIP pass, which will go on sale HERE on August 9th at 10am. Bottles will be $25 + tax.
– Pre-order bottles- You can order up to 2 bottles, and you will be able to pick them up from the bar anytime the DBH is open from Sept. 12-14th. Limited # available.
– VIP Tickets are $65 and feature 2 bottles of Headzo, a commemorative Headzo 5oz tasting glass, and a guaranteed draft pour of Headzo on Sept. 12th. Limited # available.
– Bottles on the Anniversary date. Same price. 2 bottle per person limit. Available to buy starting at 4pm on Sept. 12.
**Draft pours of Headzo will be guaranteed to VIP ticket holders on Sept. 12. There will also be a draft pour station for Headzo starting at 5pm on Sept. 12 on the outside dock area of Drake’s Barrel House.**
3) “Drake’s Beer Talks” will start at 6:30pm featuring panels and talks by former Drake’s brewers including Brewmaster John Gillooly, Founder Roger Lind, Henhouse Brewing Co-founder Collin McDonnell, The Good Hop owner and former brewer Melissa Myers and more. Beer Geek big wigs Joe Tucker and Ken Weaver of RateBeer will be on hand to moderate the sessions of talks and Q&A on a range of topics.
4) Live Music! Party like it’s 1989 (or 2014… whatever works) In our First Friday lot with music from Honey Cooler and the East Bay Brass Band.
