Our Favorite Kind of Therapy

This year, for our 27th Anniversary, we’re releasing an all new limited Triple IPA. Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Get inside our obsession with hops for some Aroma Therapy. Did you know that smell is the only one of our five senses that connects straight into the brain? Yep, your nose is kind of a big deal. One of our senior brewers, Ian Powell, spent a bunch of time sticking his nose into new hop varieties to find the best for us to showcase.

Brace yourself, there’s really nothing subtle this beer: it’s massive, resinous and intensely aromatic. We started with a base of two row, oats, rye, and orange blossom honey along with some cool new hop varieties you probably haven’t heard of. Hell, one of them is from doesn’t even have a name yet. Then we pulled out all our favorite finishing hops from both Aroma Coma and Aroma Prieta to create this dank organoleptic beast of a Triple IPA. Multiple rounds of dry-hopping with Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, Simcoe, Idaho #7 and Citra will dazzle your olfactory system and complement the metric hugeness of this beer.

“It’s an intoxicating melange of the best hops from both hemispheres,” says Brewmaster, John Gillooly. “The dank tropicality of the New Zealand varities overlays the citric blast of the sharpest Pacific Northwest hops.”

Aroma Therapy will be limited to less than 800 cases and will be released at the brewery in San Leandro on Friday, August 26 for the 27th Anniversary party. There’s a 12 bottles per person limit and when it’s gone, it’s gone. Plus, if you buy at least four bottles you get one of our fancy new bags to take home.
Keep it cold, inhale aggressively, and drink fresh. It’s time for your therapy!
